1875 Twenty Cent Piece Proof NGC PF 65
The Twenty Cents (1875-1878), the shortest-run U.S. rare coin, was frequently confused with the Quarter Dollar. The obverse of the silver Twenty Cent piece depicted a seated Liberty, with a perched eagle on the obverse. Key features to look for in the Twenty Cents include the raising of the word LIBERTY, which differs from other Liberty Seated coins of this time. Weaknesses also are common, which can be seen on Libertys head and the stars. While 1875s can be encountered frequently, the 1876 is more scarce.
