The Barber Quarter, also known as the Liberty Head Quarter was minted from 1892 to 1916. The Barber Quarter is composed of .900 silver and .100 copper, and was designed by Charles E. Barber. Barber's initial B can be found in the neck of Lady Liberty on the obverse of the quarter. The Barber Quarter had two varieties. Variety I and II are distinguished by the eagles left wing on the reverse. Variety I, the eagle's wing covers half of the E in UNITED and Variety II, the eagle's wing covers most of the E in UNITED. Due to the scarcity, Variety I is more valuable and sought after.
