Among millions of perfect coins struck by the United States Mint, there have been many mistakes, in the die striking process, called Errors or Misstruck coins. Although these coins are called errors, and looked at as very peculiar by the non-collector, errors are very sought after among collectors and dealer. Error coins demand certain premiums, but they are more coveted for the information they give on minting techniques. Error coins, or Misstruck coins are not considered as regular issues because they were not made intentionally.
